Eyecare and Cataract Outreach Program
The Eiohn Hayes Eyecare Outreach Program was established in October 2022. The projects under the foundation are high impact as each person whose sight is restored represents a transformed life and a changed household. To date we have performed 80 cataract surgeries, and 3 pterygium surgeries that took place in October 2023. The effectiveness of the program is at 98% as most go from being completely blind to having very good vision post operation.
WHAT WE DO
Collaborate with local health services to mobilize patients for clinic days for diagnosis.
Perform surgery and ensure patients receive after-care from supportive family members and local health services.
Follow-up post-surgery appointments & test eyesight of beneficiaries and record difference reported after surgical intervention.
Treat all eye care problems and provide free spectacles for surgery patients and scholars under 18.
